
The National Development Finance Agency (NDFA), part of the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA), is pleased to announce today the appointment of the Inspired Spaces Consortium as the preferred tenderer for the provision of five new schools that have been included in Schools PPP Bundle 5 of the Department of Education and Skills Public Private Partnership (PPP) programme.
Schools PPP Bundle 5 will provide over 4,800 new school places on four new campuses.
The NDFA has successfully delivered eighteen schools in three PPP Bundles with Bundles 4 & 5 underway to provide a further nine schools. These schools are being delivered in rapidly developing areas of the country where demand is high for school accommodation.
The NDFA in its role as statutory financial advisor and procurement authority on the PPP component of the government stimulus programme is responsible for procuring all the accommodation PPP projects in the programme, including Schools Bundle 5. In its procurement role, the NDFA is responsible for all aspects of the procurement and delivery of the PPP projects including transferring the projects to the sponsoring body once construction is complete and the asset is operational.
NTMA Director Brian Murphy said: “I am delighted that the preferred tenderer for Schools PPP Bundle 5 has been selected and subject to the successful completion of the procurement process and award of the contract, it is expected that construction will start in summer 2016 and that the schools will be completed by end of 2017.”
The Schools Bundle 5 PPP programme will consist of five schools on four sites in counties Carlow, Wexford, Wicklow and Meath. The schools included in the Bundle 5 are:
